Hi Adrian.
In Canada, you are in Canada I believe ?, a "registered name" is not
as difficult to register as a "company name". If you do not have a
company incorporated under federal or provincial law and only produce
a statement of revenues and expenses in YOUR OWN income tax report,
then - in Quebec at least - you can use a name that is not LOCALLY
used already. If you plan to eventually INCORPORATE, you will have
priority on that name, if it does not conflict with an existing name
elsewere.
But ther's quite more to it, and it's not bad to spend 50-100 $ on
professional advice from a business conselor, IMHO.
